During the September school holidays, twelve dedicated French teachers spent ten days discovering the rich and diverse culture of New Caledonia. The Study Tour was a huge success, helped by the endless sunshine throughout the trip.
Highlights included the 12-hour language and pedagogy course at the Creipac Language Centre, the numerous school visits and the day trip to Amédée Island. Participants also enjoyed spending time exploring the exceptional surroundings of the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, learning about the traditional history and culture of the Kanak people. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive with many already looking forward to the next trip in 2024. The AFTV would like to extend a special thank you to Claudia at Doppelgaenger Travel for once again putting together a wonderful program. Un grand merci ! Oleti !
AFTV members are invited to visit New Caledonia for an extended professional learning experience, to be fully immersed in French language and culture for a full week. Additionally, you will learn about ‘New Caledonia as a destination’ for your French students.
With its blend of French and South Pacific cultures, New Caledonia is a rich and relevant educational destination for teachers of French. Following highly successful previous tours, the ATFV Study Tour for Teachers of French is both for first-time and previous visitors to New Caledonia.
