What qualifications and registration do I need to teach in Victoria?

All teachers wishing to teach in Victoria need to be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching which is the professional body that sets the professional standards for teachers in Victoria. At the VIT website registration information is available for teacher graduates trained in Australia and experienced teachers trained in Australia and teachers trained overseas.

French Teacher (Maddingley)

Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated French Teacher to join our team at the Maddingley Campus. This is a full- time, ongoing position, commencing as soon as possible in Term 3, 2026. The successful applicant will teach French across Years 5-10, with the opportunity to teach VCE classes for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  •        Plan and deliver high- quality language lessons aligned with curriculum standards;
  •        Teach French across a range of year levels and abilities;
  •        Create inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment;
  •        Monitor, assess, and report on student progress and achievement;
  •        Foster student's interest in French language and culture.

Key Selection Criteria

  •        Appropriate teaching qualifications;
  •        Current VIT registration, or eligibility to obtain registration prior to commencement;
  •        Demonstrated capacity to teach French across Years 5–10.
