We
are very excited to invite AFTV members to visit France for an extended professional learning experience, to be fully immersed in French
language and culture for two weeks during the 2026 Easter school holidays.
The AFTV recently hosted a successful network evening at Roule-Galette in Carnegie, designed to welcome and support new teachers in the profession. .
This time it was Vietnamese with a French twist for our annual Francophone end of year celebration dinner. A sold out group of 26 members and guests gathered to enjoy each other’s company, a delicious meal of a wide variety of dishes including vegan and vegetarian, and to cap it off, an informative and interesting talk on the French Connection delivered by our welcoming and helpful host Tran.
✨ The AFTV 2024 AGM was another fantastic evening, celebrating the achievements and tireless efforts of our dedicated committee members. Together, we continue to promote the teaching and learning of French in Victoria, offering dynamic, innovative projects and
professional learning sessions to support French teachers.

Both the 2025 Y ARRIVER PAS À PAS sessions were aimed at apprehending the VCE School Assessed Coursework from a novel and specific point of view: that of the PROGRESSION expected in students’ work in the 3 VCAA-given outcomes, from Unit 1 to Unit 4 and, ultimately, the examination.
AFTV event at the NGV for the Impressionist Exhibition from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
On Sunday 15 June a sell out group of AFTV members and guests arrived at the NGV for an enthralling day, starting with a fascinating and
informative lecture by Bertrand Bourgeois from the University of Melbourne French Department.
