Yes, many of our members did fancy an end of year celebration with family, friends and colleagues.

On Friday 1 December, 29 AFTV members celebrated the end of year with our Francophone Soirée at the Brasserie Franco Belge in Hawthorn East in their private dining room. We were made most welcome and were provided with plenty of choice from the set menu of dishes representing France and/or Belgium- Salade de Chèvre Chaud, Garnalen (prawn)Kroketten, Escargots au Beurre à l'Ail, Confit de Canard, Carbonnade de Boeuf à la Flamande, Moules Marinières…and ending with a delightful platter of 4 traditional desserts such as Mousse au Chocolat, Isle Flottante, Crême Brûlée…. The staff could not have been more helpful or efficient in serving both food and drinks and the system of guests purchasing either from the bar or paying on receipt of drinks went smoothly.

There was a warm and friendly atmosphere as guests chatted and enjoyed each others' company, sometimes moving to an adjoining table to catch up with friends and colleagues.

The general consensus was that we should do this again - celebrate the end of the year with a dinner at a Francophone restaurant.

Please when you complete the Survey Monkey include any suggestions for a suitable venue which the committee can then check for suitability.

My special thanks to Dinah for all of her help and support in organising this event.
