AFTV TRAVEL GRANT

FATFA Conference Canberra 

The AFTV invites 2026 AFTV members to apply for a $ 500 travel grant  to attend the FATFA Conference to be held in Canberra on 27 - 28 November 2026: (un)Knowing and (un)Learning. 

To apply for the grant, please complete and sign the attached form and email it to treasurer@aftv.vic.edu.au. A maximum of TEN grants will be awarded. 

PROCESS OF APPROVAL 

  • Priority will be given to 2026 AFTV members who have been selected to present at the FATFA conference.
  • Only one application per 2026 AFTV member.
  • All applicants will be notified of the financial and scholarship sub-committee’s decision shortly after 18 September.

Submit a Workshop Proposal

We're excited to invite passionate Languages educators, leaders and partners to contribute to the 2026 LTV Annual Conference.

This year's theme, Thriving through Languages, recognises the powerful role that Languages Education plays in shaping inclusive, engaged, connected and thriving communities.

From leadership strategies to quality classroom practices, we encourage you to share your thinking, experience and practical strategies for supporting students to thrive through Languages.

Workshop proposals are due by COB Friday 25 September.

Save the date The conference will be held on Monday 30 November at Catholic Leadership Centre, 576 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne.

National recognition for outstanding

teachers of French in Australia 2026 

Following the success of the 2020, 2022 and 2024 awards, FATFA is pleased to announce that we are once again offering two awards to recognise outstanding teachers of French. To promote the profession of «professeur de français» and to celebrate the international «Journée du prof de français» on Thursday 26 November 2026, FATFA would like to officially recognise outstanding teachers of French at a national level, in conjunction with the Ambassade de France, SBS French Radio, ASFS and state Teachers of French Associations: AFTV, MLTA-ACT, LTQ, NAFT, SAFTA, TAFT and TOFAWA. 

Do you know amazing teachers who show great enthusiasm and passion for their profession? Teachers who motivate, inspire their students with innovative teaching practices, and support and empower their colleagues? You can nominate a teacher in one of these 2 categories (you do not need to be a French teacher to nominate):
