Brune Mercuri is an experienced French educator at Methodist Ladies' College in Melbourne. She has been teaching French across a range of year levels and programs for the past 17 years, with particular expertise and enthusiasm for French Immersion, VCE French and VET Applied Language.
Trained in both AIM and Explicit Processing Instruction (EPI), Brunehilde is passionate about creating engaging, dynamic and highly interactive language classrooms. Her background and passion in Drama also shape her teaching practice, particularly through role play, movement, creativity and opportunities for students to use French in meaningful contexts. She has a particular interest in French Immersion, and in helping students build confidence through clear routines, purposeful language use and active participation. Brunehilde also enjoys exploring innovative approaches to language teaching, experimenting with AI as a tool for teaching and learning, and continually finding creative ways to increase learner engagement.
Anne-Lise Llewellyn is an accomplished language educator and the current Head of Languages at Methodist Ladies’ College in Melbourne. With a career spanning over two decades, Anne-Lise began her teaching journey in the UK, where she served as a GCSE French teacher and Head of Department before relocating to Australia in 2003.
She brings extensive experience in teaching French across VCE, IB, and VET Applied Language programs. Anne-Lise is passionate about fostering a collaborative and dynamic learning environment, and she thrives in the collegial atmosphere of a large and diverse Languages faculty.
Her professional interests include mentoring early-career teachers, exploring the science of learning, using Explicitly Processing Instruction (EPI) and High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) to enhance student outcomes.
