We will discuss both the Oral and Written Exams. We will share strategies to allow our students to approach their exams with the knowledge and skills that are expected from them.

Karine Coste is a highly-qualified education and training professional with over 25 years' experience, dedicated to teaching French and sharing the passion of languages in a wide range of education settings. She is currently Head of Languages at Scotch College Melbourne.
Karine's formal qualifications include several language degrees, with a focus on teaching French at GCSE, A Level, IB, and VCE levels in both Europe and Australia. Karine has held the role of Head of Languages at two prestigious boys' secondary schools over the past fifteen years and has actively extended professional development to deliver training to support teachers deepen their expertise in French assessment practices.
Karine draws on her practical experience teaching, leading and developing people, always looking at new ways to motivate, challenge and
build confidence in the classroom, with a view to bring out the best in everyone.
Xavier Reuter currently teaches at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School and has over
30 years' experience teaching French. With more than 20 years of involvement in VCE French in various capacities, he has developed a
thorough understanding of the demands of the written examination and the skills students need to succeed. Over the years, Xavier has led
seminars designed to support teachers in unpacking the VCE French written exam, offering practical strategies, clear frameworks, and
insightful analysis of exam expectations.
Xavier is a strong advocate of explicit teaching and believes in breaking down the skills students need to succeed as language learners. He is also passionate about integrating new technologies in meaningful ways, including the thoughtful use of AI to enhance both teaching practice and student learning outcomes.
